Project Overview:

Our client is building and operating modern, highly scalable infrastructure and storage platforms across hybrid and cloud-native environments. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and continuously improving reliable, secure infrastructure services that support critical business and research workloads.

You will work with cutting-edge distributed storage technologies (Weka, Qumulo, Ceph), Kubernetes, HashiCorp Vault, and full DevOps/SRE tooling in complex distributed systems environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, operate, and continuously improve modern infrastructure and storage platforms across hybrid and cloud-native environments
• Build and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure services supporting critical business and research workloads
• Work with distributed storage technologies: Weka, Qumulo, Ceph
• Operate and optimize Kubernetes and containerized platforms
• Manage secrets and security using HashiCorp Vault
• Apply DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices daily
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
• Participate in incident management and operational support

Must-Have Knowledge and Experience:

• Strong experience with infrastructure engineering and platform operations
• Hands-on experience with distributed storage technologies: Weka, Qumulo, and/or Ceph (mandatory)
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized platforms
• Knowledge of secrets management solutions such as HashiCorp Vault
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices
• Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methodologies
• Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) experience (Terraform, Ansible)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability platforms
• Experience with incident management and operational support
• Understanding of scalability, high availability, and resiliency concepts
• Experience working with Linux-based infrastructure environments
• Understanding of networking and cloud-native infrastructure concepts
• Scripting/programming for automation (Python, Bash, Go) – beneficial
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Nice-to-Have Knowledge and Experience:

• Understanding of data privacy, data protection, and information security principles
• Experience handling sensitive and regulated data in enterprise environments
• Knowledge of access control, authentication, authorization, and secrets management practices
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards relevant to infrastructure platforms
• Understanding of encryption technologies for data at rest and in transit
• Experience implementing secure infrastructure and least-privilege access models
• Awareness of GDPR and other applicable data privacy regulations
• Ability to follow operational and security governance procedures
• Experience working with audit logging, monitoring, and compliance reporting
