Software Developer - SIL

For our client Volvo Cars, we're looking for a Software Developer - Driver Modeling for Closed-loop Simulations

Assignment Description: Software Developer - Driver Modeling for Closed-loop Simulations

Who we are

We are a group of software developers, automotive engineers, data scientists, physicists, and generally fun and interesting people from around the world who like to work together to create the best-in-class simulation environment for autonomous drive (AD) and advanced drive assistance systems (ADAS). Our group Software-in-the-loop Environments is part of the R&D organization Safe Vehicle Automation (SVA), which is responsible for all AD/ADAS and vehicle control software which run on Volvo Cars’ vehicles. Our tools are used across the organization to test, verify, and validate software and ensure we deliver the safest cars on the market.

What you will do

The closed-loop simulations team is responsible to develop an in-house simulator to test the decision and control part of our AD/ADAS software stack. We work mainly in C++ and Python and we follow open standards such as OpenScenario, OpenDrive, and OSI to build the best in class, scalable and super-fast simulator. For this team, we are looking for a software developer with experience in simulation and control theory, who can help us to make sure that our driver model performs well in all relevant scenarios. You will contribute as a developer to our agile SCRUM team, working together on user stories in our backlog, which the team has full ownership of.

Who you are

You are a team player who is always looking for opportunities to learn and improve yourself and the team. You can communicate clearly, take responsibility for your work, and build trust with colleagues and customers. You enjoy solving loosely defined problems, and embrace ambiguity and change as part of your work.

You have a M.Sc. in any of the fields: Physics, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant engineering degree. You may also apply if you have learned comparable skills outside of any educational system.

You have experience with closed-loop simulations and control theory.

Experience with driver modeling in a simulation context is meritorious

Experience with OpenScenario, OpenDrive, and OSI standards is meritorious.
