Frontend Developer

We are now looking for a Frontend Developer on the behalf of our client.

Background/Scope of work:

Retail Concept Operations organisation delivers digital capabilities for areas delivering the IKEA retail concept to IKEA retailers. Some of the core deliverables are IKEA.net, IKEA.com, SKAPA digital design system, Store Planning and Optimisation, VISA digital retail experience, MyLearning, and IKEA Knowledge graph.

The Merchandise & Commercial Planning team is responsible for the ways of working and tools that enable more than 8,000 co workers across our stores worldwide to plan and design our physical customer meeting points.

Now, we’re taking the next step. We are building a digital hub that will become the starting point for all store planning. A place where co workers can begin their planning journey, find inspiration from how others have designed their spaces, and get a clear overview of their own store performance and setup.

At the heart of this hub will be:

  • Interactive 3D layouts that bring store plans to life
  • Relevant data and insights to support better decisions
  • A seamless experience that connects inspiration, planning, and execution

The frontend developer is to be knowledgeable in:

  • JavaScript and TypeScript
  • React
  • CSS
  • Styled Components
  • State management
  • RBAC
  • Graphql
  • Figma and UX-driven development
  • AI-assisted spec-driven development
  • Git
  • CI/CD workflows
  • Single Sign On & overall Authorization flow
  • Accessibility (WCAG)
  • Information Security and Data Privacy
  • Containerized delivery (Docker, Azure Container Apps)
  • Build tooling & performance (e.g. Vite, code-splitting)
  • Automated testing (e.g. Vitest, React Testing Library; property-based with fast-check)

Bonus / nice-to-have:

  • 3D / CAD visualisation (e.g. Three.js + React Three Fiber / drei, Babylon.js)
  • Visual page builder / headless content rendering (e.g. Puck, Contentful)
  • Client-side observability / RUM (e.g. OpenTelemetry)

The core requirements of the candidate:

  • A team player who is willing to put the work in to build a user‑friendly, production‑ready planning entry point, working together with the team to find optimal solutions and adapt to end-user needs.
  • Good knowledge of the web landscape.
  • Good knowledge of consuming REST / OpenAPI services.
  • Good knowledge of component-driven UI & design systems.

    Location: Malmö (needs to be onsite at least 3 days/week)
