For our client, we are looking for an UX-Designer.

We seek a highly skilled Automotive UX Designer to join our Design Studio in Gothenburg.

You will be responsible for designing and optimizing user interfaces and experiences for automotive

systems, including CSD and mobile applications. Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams

to analyze and optimize the user experience for in-car systems, delivering intuitive and engaging

interactions. Create interactive prototypes to convey experimental UX concepts and explore innovative

design solutions.

You will work within the Technology & Innovation department, collaborating with Design and Engineering

departments to deliver future-forward UX and UI for lighting systems.

Qualifications and skills required for the role

 A formal education, Bachelor or higher in design with a focus on UX and visual ergonomics.

 5+ years of professional experience in automotive design or closely related fields

(consumer/architecture) with a strong portfolio.

 Candidates should bring hands-on experience designing for touch-based platforms such as

mobile apps, combined with a strong grasp of UI/UX principles including iconography, screen

layouts, and system interactions.

 Experience working with real user feedback and conducting UX analysis and studies is

essential, as is an understanding of user behavior in automotive or similarly constrained

environments.

 Comfortable collaborating with both designers and engineers throughout the full design

process.

 Demonstrated experience translating light concepts into feasible, manufacturable solutions

with suppliers and engineering.

 Excellent communication in English (both written and verbal), with strong storytelling and

presentation skills.

 High proficiency in Figma, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator, with strong visual design

fundamentals across typography, color theory, and layout. A deep, instinctive understanding of

UX principles, visual ergonomics, and human behavior, paired with a keen eye for detail.

 Able to work fluently across various application environments and form factors, and to convey

complex concepts clearly through UI screens, videos, and prototypes.

 Comfortable engaging with a broad range of stakeholders — designers, engineers, and end

users alike — with a natural ability to navigate and understand the needs of each.

Key responsibilities

 Design and optimize user interfaces for automotive systems, including central displays and

mobile applications, ensuring seamless integration of visual and functional elements

 Create interactive prototypes to explore and communicate experimental UX concepts and

innovative interaction patterns

 Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to analyze user

feedback and ensure design solutions meet both user needs and business objectives

 Analyze and optimize in-car user experiences to ensure intuitive, user-friendly interactions

 Maintain design consistency across interfaces and produce detailed speciÞcations and

documentation for development teams

 Stay current with UX/UI trends, tools, and techniques, continuously contributing to the

evolution of design practices within the team

Other

 The assignment will take place in our studio in Gothenburg, and we have an ‘office first’

environment with some flexibility to WFH

 Travel to China may be needed (approx. 2-3 trips per year).

 Everyone in our team has a high level of responsibility and mandate and is expected to be

able to work autonomously.
