We are looking for a Senior API Consultant to help our client build a unified, high-quality domain API layer for their digital channels. We are seeking a Senior API Consultant to help our client to build a unified domain API Layer.

Currently, our client's customer facing channels integrates to independently different systems, leading to duplicated efforts, slower time-to-market and inconsistent customer journeys. Your mission is to move the client away from difficult integrations for every channel and toward a composable architecture where their webshop, mobile app, and other portals all consume the same high-quality data.

The challenge

• Domain-driven design: Architect and build Domain APIs that abstract the complexity of underlying systems.
• System synchronization: Ensure real-time data consistency between modern API layer and backend systems.
• Developer experience: Create APIs that are so intuitive and well-documented that frontend teams can "self-serve" and accelerate speed-to-market.

Technical requirements

• Expert .NET Skills: 5+ years of professional experience with C# and .NET.
• RESTful and event-driven architecture: A proven track record of designing "clean" REST APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger) and event-driven architecture.
• Azure ecosystem: Deep hands-on experience with azure, containers, service bus.
• Data mastery: Strong proficiency in Azure SQL, including schema design, performance tuning, and data mapping.
• Identity & Security: Experience with OAuth2, JWT, authorization patterns.

The "AI-Native" advantage (Nice to have)
The client is looking for candidates who are "AI-native" and can help them integrate agentic workflows:

• AI-Augmented development: Proactive use of AI tools to accelerate code generation, testing, and documentation. Agents, skills and MCP.

Soft skills & consulting mindset

• Strategic thinking: You don’t just build what is asked; you understand the "why" behind the domain and the business value.
• Collaboration & communication: Collaboration and clear communication in- and outside the team is crucial
• Pragmatism: You know how to balance "perfect architecture" with the need for "speed-to-market."

This role requires working 3 days/week at the client's office in Espoo.
