About the Assignment

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Software Configuration Manager / DevOps Lead to take ownership of and coordinate Configuration Management practices within a large-scale strategic transformation program, Accounting and Reporting Transformation (ART).

This role requires a unique combination of deep technical expertise, hands-on delivery capability, and strong leadership skills to ensure quality, stability, traceability, and efficiency across complex IT deliveries.

You will be responsible for establishing, developing, and governing Configuration Management processes, driving automation initiatives, and ensuring robust software delivery practices throughout a business-critical transformation program.

We are seeking a senior professional with at least 10 years of experience within software development and IT, who thrives in large-scale transformation initiatives, complex integration environments, and highly collaborative organizations.

About ART (Accounting and Reporting Transformation)

Accounting and Reporting Transformation (ART) is a strategic initiative aimed at modernizing and consolidating accounting capabilities currently distributed across multiple legacy platforms into a modern cloud-based solution.

The program consists of several agile teams spanning technology, architecture, integration, testing, operations, and business process development, creating a highly collaborative and technically demanding environment.

Ongoing integration activities involve both upstream business applications delivering accounting data and downstream systems consuming data from the new platform.

Key Responsibilities

As Software Configuration Manager / DevOps Lead, you will:

Lead and coordinate Configuration Management activities across multiple teams and delivery streams.

Establish, maintain, and continuously improve Configuration Management processes, governance, and best practices.

Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, automation, and modern software delivery practices across the organization.

Define and manage configuration baselines, versioning strategies, release management processes, and deployment frameworks.

Ensure that changes, releases, and deployments are implemented in a controlled, traceable, auditable, and compliant manner.

Build and develop frameworks supporting teams in software configuration, deployment, and governance activities.

Drive automation within build, test, release, and deployment processes.

Act as a key link between technology teams, architecture, project management, operations, and business stakeholders.

Ensure adherence to documentation standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Provide both strategic leadership and hands-on technical guidance when required.

Promote operational excellence, standardization, and continuous improvement across the ART organization.

Required Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

Minimum 10 years of experience within software development, IT, and technology delivery.

Extensive experience as a Software Configuration Manager, DevOps Lead, or similar senior position.

Strong technical background in software engineering and IT infrastructure.

Proven experience implementing and managing:

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Continuous Integration (CI)

Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CD)

Automation frameworks and DevOps practices

Strong expertise in version control management using Git, including:

Branching strategies

Merge management

Release management

Versioning best practices

Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as:

Jenkins

GitLab CI/CD

GitHub Actions

Azure DevOps

Similar enterprise CI/CD solutions

Strong scripting and automation skills.

Solid programming experience with:

Python

Bash

Strong understanding of relational databases and database lifecycle management, including:

SQL

Data Definition Language (DDL)

Data Manipulation Language (DML)

Data Control Language (DCL)

Transaction Control Language (TCL)

Stored Procedures

Triggers

Database Views

Constraints

Experience working within large-scale integration landscapes and complex distributed systems.

Experience from major transformation, modernization, or migration programs.

Ability to work on both strategic and operational levels.

Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, alternatively equivalent professional experience.
