Gofore is looking for an addition to the Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) team to help with on-prem servers. The on-prem servers consist of both Windows and Linux systems. The team works in tight collaboration with the client’s tech lead to provide a robust and future-proof cloud setup. Key Responsibilities: Configure Auvik Monitoring: - Set up Auvik monitoring to track the health and performance of legacy network devices and servers. - Ensure comprehensive coverage of all critical infrastructure components. Decommission Existing Monitoring Tools: - Remove Zabbix and OPmanager monitoring configurations to streamline the monitoring setup. - Ensure a smooth transition to the new monitoring solution. Handover from Previous Supplier: - Take over the management of legacy systems from the previous supplier, ensuring a complete handover by the end of 2025. Collaboration and Knowledge Transfer: - Work closely with the team to gain knowledge. - Receive guidance on all necessary tools and information from the client’s tech lead. System Reliability and Performance: - Implement strategies to enhance system reliability, availability, and performance. - Collaborate with the team to ensure new features are deployed reliably and efficiently. Risk Management and Mitigation: - Identify potential risks to system performance and implement mitigation strategies. - Continuously monitor and review the effectiveness of these strategies. Capacity Planning and Optimization: - Plan and optimize system capacity to meet growing demands. - Ensure efficient use of resources such as CPU, RAM, and storage. The client’s tech lead will provide training on most of the relevant technologies, so full expertise in all areas is not required upfront. There’s no requirement for on-site presence; all work is done remotely. The allocation is until the end of 2025.
