Surface Design Lead + Designers - Lamps (work package)

For our client Volvo Cars we are looking for one Surface Design Lead and two Surface Designers - Lamps as a work package.

Please note: ideal would be to have the same supplier for all resources but everyone is welcome to apply.

Description: Volvo Cars requests a team to support the development of lamps, from early sketch phase through to Class-A delivery. The setup shall include: * One Surface Design Lead, partially located on-site if possible * Experience of Studio Engineering to support technical implementation * A satellite team operating off-site within the same time zone as Gothenburg. Project Scope: * Timeframe: ASAP after agreement, earliest ramp-up to December 30, 2026 (6 months) with option to extend. Weeks 29-32 are non-working weeks. * Team Composition: o 1 × Surface Design Lead with high technical lamp knowledge to fulfill Studio Engineering needs in implementation of TI in the DSM model (Level 3-4) o 2 × Surface Designers with proven lamp experience and knowledge (Level 2-3) * The team shall be scalable with resource adjustments discussed and agreed upon. * Project scope can be adjusted within agreed timeframe and cost. Technical Requirements: * Supplier responsible for providing all necessary tools and infrastructure including: o Software: Autodesk Alias Surface and/or ICEM Surf; CATIA V5 for technical input, model preparation, and release validation o Hardware: High-performance workstations (portable preferred) o Collaboration: Full compatibility with Microsoft Teams o Data Handling: Data exchange via SWAN or via the resident Surface Design Lead using a connected system Competence Requirements: Surface Design Lead (Level 3-4): * Senior surface designer with strong coordination capability * Knowledge in Studio Engineering within Exterior lighting, technical understanding of lamps * Responsible for communication with design, planning and distribution of work, file management, design reviews, quality assurance, ensuring technical implementation, and securing deliveries according to standards * Required tools & systems knowledge: Alias and/or ICEM Surf (primary), CATIA V5 (release preparation), Teamcenter if connected via client system Surface Designers x 2 (Level 2-3): * Proven experience in automotive surface design and exterior lighting * Capable of delivering high-quality Class-A surfaces * Knowledge in Studio Engineering and technical requirements Delivery & Planning: * All deliveries to follow agreed release plan; changes require mutual agreement * Supplier expected to align planning, staffing, and execution to meet milestones * Risks or deviations to be communicated proactively Quality Requirements: * All deliverables to meet internal quality standards * Quality criteria and guidelines provided by assigned design representative * Supplier responsible for internal quality checks prior to delivery

If any deviations or discrepancies occur, the supplier should inform Ework and the candidate should not be moving forward in the procurement process.
