For our client in the banking sector we are looking for an Senior Automation Test Engineer to join a high-impact team, building and maintaining systems for investment fund trading.

You will take ownership of test automation strategy and execution in a complex, backend-heavy environment, working closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high quality and fast delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reusable test automation frameworks
• Build and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers
• Develop automation for functional, regression, and integration testing
• Execute manual testing where automation is not optimal, including exploratory testing
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery
• Prepare and manage test data, analyze results, and report defects clearly
• Improve testing processes by automating repetitive workflows
• Collaborate cross-functionally to embed quality across the development lifecycle

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience balancing automation and manual testing
• Proficiency in Java (21+)
• Experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as:
• Selenium or Playwright
• JUnit / TestNG
• Cucumber (or similar)
• API testing experience using REST Assured (or similar)
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Experience testing event-driven systems (Kafka, JMS, MQ)
• Familiarity with OpenAPI / AsyncAPI
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins)
• Strong understanding of OOP and design patterns
• Experience testing complex distributed backend systems
• Ability to design structured manual test cases and exploratory testing
• Fluent in English
