Software & Data Analysis Engineer – Wired Communication
For our client we are looking for a Software & Data Analysis Engineer – Wired Communication

About the team
You will become a member of the development team, ComWired Applications which is a team where you will get access to long term development opportunities in a dynamic environment. The wired communication area consists of a hardware (HW) team known as ComWired Technologies, a software (SW) team known as ComWired Application team, and a systems team known as ComWired System. All these teams have many deliverables which are developed through advanced engineering and research projects. The teams are a part of Diagnostics and Base Technology (DBT), which forms a part of the fundament for all electronic control units in the entire electrical system.
The ComWired Applications (SW) team focuses on multiple wired communication technologies. The team members are responsible for designing and verifying the wired communication technologies through requirements, simulations, measurements and proof of concept from both a HW and SW perspective. The team members work in close collaboration with other teams and suppliers to make sure that the wired technologies are implemented according to Volvo Cars requirements.
What you’ll do
As a Software Test Engineer in DBT, you will be responsible for designing and implementing test cases with purpose to deliver quick and efficient known quality, it also include monitoring of the execution of our test strategy across our organization. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our applications will work as expected and meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Automation - Continuously give feedback and suggest optimization of test automation processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Test Execution – Implement and monitor the execution of test cases, utilizing both manual and automated testing techniques to verify/validate our product both in rigs and in complete vehicles. Identify issues and find quick solutions.
- Documentation - Create and maintain documentation related to plans and test verdicts.
This work will be done in close cooperation with other team members. Team members are automotive experts within their technology field, and they will be happy to share their experience with you. More details about the position will be shared in an interview.
You and your skills
You enjoy learning from others, as well as, sharing your knowledge with your colleagues. You are flexible and have excellent communication and documentation skills in English. You have a positive attitude and are a team player. You are experienced with agile development and familiar with software development best practices.
We believe that you have following basic skills and qualifications:
- M.Sc or B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Knowledge about Vector CAPL script
- Experience in software development (Python) for enabling automation
- Experience with Automated software testing/Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
- Knowledge of distributed electrical systems and electrical architecture
- Experience in test tools such as Wireshark and Canalyzer/CANoe
- Swedish driver license (B)
With following preferred skills and qualifications:
- ISTQB Certification
- Hands on knowledge about writing automated test cases on higher test levels
- Experience in embedded software development (C++)
