To our client in the banking sector we are looking for a (Senior) Backend Developer (6 month Try & Hire) to strengthen microservice development and release capabilities. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring high-quality, reliable, and well-performing backend services from development through production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, verify, release, and monitor backend services with a strong focus on quality, automation, and operational excellence. Main Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain JAVA microservices - Drive API verification and test automation to ensure correctness and reliability - Perform and contribute to performance testing and analysis - Contribute to releasing, deployment, and production monitoring - Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across development and production environments - Contribute to continuous improvement of development, testing, and release practices Must-have knowledge and experience - Strong experience with Java, Spring/Spring boot - Solid understanding of REST APIs and backend integration patterns - Experience in test automation and verification strategies - Strong quality mindset - you care deeply about correctness, stability, and maintainability - Ownership mentality - you take responsibility from development all the way to production - Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others - Analytical and structured approach to problem solving Nice-to-have knowledge and experience - Experience with Kafka or other event-driven / messaging platforms - AWS experience is a strong plus (e.g., cloud-native services, deployment, monitoring)
