Description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the Scania Defence Project Office and lead complex defence projects from inception through to industrialization.

As Defence Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for planning, coordinating, and driving assigned projects towards agreed objectives, scope, and deliveries. The role requires the ability to combine a strategic perspective with strong operational execution and to provide clear leadership in a complex environment involving multiple stakeholders and functions.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, partners, and cross-functional teams, creating alignment around common priorities and ensuring that projects progress according to plan.

A key part of the assignment is to provide structure and direction while building commitment, collaboration, and accountability within the project team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of assigned defence projects from inception through to industrialization.

Ensure project activities and deliveries are aligned with agreed strategic objectives, scope, priorities, and timelines.

Provide clear leadership and direction in complex project environments.

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners, and project teams.

Create alignment between stakeholders and ensure continued focus on common priorities and project outcomes.

Coordinate, coach, and support project participants throughout the project lifecycle.

Foster collaboration, accountability, and a strong learning culture within the project team.

Oversee project budgets, resource allocation, and financial tracking.

Ensure efficient use of resources and proactively address project risks, dependencies, and challenges.

Communicate project status, priorities, and key decisions effectively to relevant stakeholders.

Work with both senior stakeholders on strategic direction and project teams on day-to-day execution.

Education & Technical Skills

Master's degree, preferably in Engineering, Business, or another relevant field.

Equivalent professional experience from similar assignments may also be considered.

Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and ways of working.

Ability to manage project budgets, resources, timelines, and deliveries.

Fluent English communication skills.

Experience & Skills

Proven professional experience in Project Management.

Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams.

Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and dependencies.

Strong track record of driving projects and initiatives towards agreed objectives and deliveries.

Experience managing stakeholder relationships at different organizational levels.

Ability to combine strategic perspective with structured operational execution.

Ability to create alignment and maintain focus on common priorities and outcomes.

Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to provide structure and direction while building commitment and collaboration within the project team.

Comfortable working with both senior stakeholders and project teams in day-to-day execution.

Meriting Experience

Previous experience from Scania.

Knowledge of Scania's organization, working methods, and processes.

Previous experience from complex industrial or similar project environments.
