The client is looking for a Senior AI Developer to join a team building product information interfaces (Kafka + REST) and related tooling. A central component of the project is a system that leverages Generative AI (GenAI) to enhance and enrich product descriptions. While the contract is structured in 3-month increments due to procurement reasons, the goal is to find a long-term, permanent core team member.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain product data interfaces using Kafka and REST APIs.
• Build tools supporting product data workflows, including a GenAI-powered description enrichment system.
• Take full ownership of technical execution and drive tasks forward independently without relying all the time for a PO or Agile Master.
• Ideally occasionally facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily standups and retrospectives.

Qualifications and technical skills

• Seniority: Senior-level software developer experience.
• Backend Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Cloud & Containers: Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and ECS.
• Data Streams & Pipelines: Proven track record of building data pipelines or working with data streams (Apache Kafka or similar).
• AI Tooling: Prior experience and a clear vision for AI-assisted coding practices.
• Soft Skills: Self-directed, accountable, and proactive. Ability to push tasks to completion independently.

Plusses

• GenAI Experience: Prior experience building systems powered by Generative AI.
• Frontend/Fullstack: Practical experience with TypeScript.
• Facilitation: Interest in occasionally facilitating retros, dailies, or team alignment sessions.
