Project Manager

We are looking for a Project Manager for our Client in the manufacuring industry

The Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of the GXS EOL project, including planning, execution, stakeholder alignment, risk management, and delivery. The role covers coordination across Divisions, Group functions like IT, PLM and D&CE, and US stakeholders.

Role overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a complex digital and engineering-related decommissioning project. The role requires strong digital project management capabilities, cross-functional leadership skills, and experience operating in global, matrix organizations.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the project plan, milestones, and governance structure
  • Own day-to-day project leadership from initiation through closure
  • Drive structured transition and shutdown of GXS including dependency mapping and migration planning
  • Coordinate with IT, US Digital CoE, GPC, SELECT (CPQ), and regional/divisional representatives
  • Lead communication, change management, and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Track risks, issues, and decisions; escalate as required
  • Ensure documentation of system dependencies, decisions, and lessons learned
  • Provide regular status reporting to Project Owner and Steering Committee
  • Ensure alignment with digital strategy and future-state platforms
  • Drive disciplined execution with focus on quality, time, cost, and risk
  • Facilitate decision-making in complex, cross-regional environments

Key deliverables

  • Approved project plan and governance setup
  • Dependency and impact assessment across divisions and systems
  • GXS decommissioning and transition plan
  • Stakeholder communication and change management plan
  • Final EOL execution report including lessons learned

Required qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in digital, engineering, or online platform environments
  • Strong understanding of digital tools, system landscapes, and software lifecycle management
  • Experience with decommissioning or transformation of legacy systems
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Comfortable working with globally distributed teams
  • Fluent in English

Preferred experience

  • Experience with CPQ process, PIM, product configuration, or online selection tools
  • Background in digital transformation or enterprise IT programs
  • Project management certification (PRINCE2, PMI, IPMA, or similar)
  • Experience working with US-based teams and stakeholders
  • Running complex projects in a global enterprise

Duration & working model

The engagement is part-time from March through December 2026, with an estimated scope of 350–600 hours depending on profile. The role is primarily remote with limited travel, and the preferred location is the U.S.; candidates based elsewhere must work consistently within US Central Time hours. Workload will be highest at project start (50%), followed by a gradual handover to the US Digital CoE team and might be going into 25% part time position.
