For our client, we are looking for a Data Platform Lead.

The Position

You will work together with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Engineers and Platform Engineers to lead the transition into a data driven culture, where Data, Analytics & AI/ML are an integral part of our services and internal processes. By having the responsibility all the way from raw data to actionable insights, we are at the forefront of creating value from Volvo Group’s customers’ 1.8 million connected assets.

The Role

As a Data Platform Lead, you are a key player in ensuring the technical integrity, scalability, and security of our core data platform. You will architect and implement the technical foundations that allow us to scale our data-driven services and future proof our deliveries by owning the "how" of our platform.

You will also be responsible for day-to-day operations of the platform together with our platform engineers, such as managing access, auditing usage, empowering our federated development teams and developing efficient maintenance processes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Infrastructure as code codebase owner: Having ownership of our infrastructure as code setup built in Terraform, ensuring best practices for lifecycle management and disaster recovery

• Lakehouse & Infrastructure Design: Owning the architecture of our Databricks environment and AWS infrastructure, ensuring secure, efficient, and cost-effective cloud resource utilization.

• Integration & Delivery: Designing the integration patterns—from batch processing to fast APIs and event-driven streams—that bridge our analytical platform with high-concurrency telematics applications.

• Technical Governance & Access: Designing the unified access control framework and translating business-level privacy policies into practical data masking and security measures.

• Structure & Automation: Establishing the overarching structural naming conventions and automated checks that enforce data contracts without creating bottlenecks for our domain teams.

Your Profile

We believe you are a creative and entrepreneurial problem-solver that together with others can define the best practice architecture for end-to-end data solutions. You enjoy working in a team and can guide data professionals in navigating complex technical landscapes, ensuring quality, performance optimization, and scalable delivery. You are also keen on staying at the forefront of technology and can help guide the organization in tool selection and infrastructure setup.

When it comes to technology, you have solid experience designing and deploying large-scale data platforms in a cloud environment. You are proficient in modern data architecture principles and have hands-on expertise with Databricks, Spark, Python, and SQL. We work in a hybrid cloud environment with a strong focus on AWS, so experience designing secure cloud infrastructure, serving layers, and infrastructure-as-code is essential.

As a part of the contract signature, you, the supplier, will also sign a ‘SELF-DECLARATION FORM’ confirming all requested Background Checks are completed. If you/your consultant is selected for the assignment, you are responsible to ensure the background check is completed before signing a contract.

Our client reserves the right to request evidence of completion of these checks according to their expectations for the duration of the contingent worker assignment.

If any deviations or discrepancies occur, the supplier should inform Ework and the candidate should not be moving forward in the procurement process.

Any supplier awarded an assignment with our client needs to, at least, perform checks on:

• Identity verification

• Right-to-work confirmation

• Address verification (covering approximately the last 10 years)

• Education verification (highest relevant degree or certification)

• Financial fitness (e.g., history of bankruptcy or significant debts)

• Corporate directorship review (where applicable)

• Criminal record check in accordance with local legislation

• Basic open-source / media review (including social media)
