The current platform is AWS-based and has been modernised incrementally. The key question is whether to continue that path or consolidate more of the data engineering, storage, and analytics stack onto Databricks.

What you’ll do

• Compare Databricks vs. continued AWS-native modernisation across multi-year TCO, engineering effort, maintainability, and end-user value.
• Assess the impact on data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and business users.
• Review migration considerations, risks, assumptions, and architectural trade-offs.
• Produce a clear, decision-ready recommendation for senior leadership.

You’re comfortable with

• Senior-level data platform architecture and strategy work.
• Strong understanding of AWS data platforms and Databricks.
• TCO modelling and evaluating build/run complexity, not just technology features.
• Modern data stacks including Kafka/MSK, Spark, Iceberg, Glue, Athena, orchestration, and analytics tooling.
• Communicating complex technical trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Working independently and staying genuinely vendor-neutral.

• Location: Helsinki Capital Region. Onsite requirement three times a week at the customer office.
