Java Backend Developer– Group App Store Project

For our client WirelessCar we are looking for a Java Backend Developer– Group App Store Project.

About the role

They are building the Group App Store Backend, a new cloud-native platform for Cariad/WirelessCar that will manage application distribution and integrations for connected vehicles across Europe and North America. The solution will be built as a modern, scalable DevOps product running on Kubernetes with Spring Boot and Azure services, following WirelessCar's established engineering processes and quality standards.

Team in Gothenburg

We are establishing a new DevOps team in Gothenburg that will take full ownership of the service—from development through production operations.

The planned team consists of:

• 3 Senior Backend Developers

• 4 Experienced Backend Developers

• 1 Junior Developer

The team will work closely with:

• Product Owner

• Scrum Master

• Solution Architects

• Security Architects

• SRE & Operations

• Cariad development teams and Product Owner

The long-term plan is to start development in Sweden and later expand with a team in India for maintenance and operations as the service matures.

Who are we looking for?

Our client is looking for experienced Backend Developers with knowledge of modern cloud-native development, ideally with experience in:

• Java & Spring Boot

• Kubernetes and containerized applications

• Azure cloud services (PostgreSQL, Blob Storage, Service Bus, etc.)

• REST APIs and microservices

• DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, logging)

• Agile/SAFE development

• Experience with the Volkswagen Azure-based platform Megatron or automotive platforms is a strong advantage

• Front-end knowledge/experience is a plus

The team owns the complete lifecycle of the service—from requirements and implementation to deployment, monitoring, operations, and continuous improvements.

The development will be done in close cooperation with the end client.
