Our client is looking for a Release Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Release team in close collaboration with Product Management, * Development Management, and Project Management.
  • Take responsibility for the release process, including planning, coordination, and execution of releases.
  • Release Monitoring: Keep track of committed changes in the branch and ensure alignment with the release plan.
  • Release Planning: Establish a solid timeline for testing and follow up on outstanding tasks before release.
  • Testing & Quality Control: Review test reports, gather feedback, and prioritize bug fixes with the right stakeholders.
  • OS Version Management: Lead technical discussions on OS versions with engineers and development teams.
  • Branch Strategy & GitHub: Maintain control over the branch strategy and ensure what is ready for testing and release.
  • Collaboration with DevOps: Work closely with the DevOps team to ensure a stable and efficient release process.
  • Develop tools and services for release management and implement automated testing to enhance productivity.
  • Improve development processes for continuous integration, deployment, and software/environment updates.
  • Define strategy and guidelines for release management tools within IT to meet process requirements.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Technical education at MSc/BSc level.
  • At least 3 years of experience in release and test engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience with information systems in an operational setting (system analysis or development).
  • Experience as a team leader, including planning and progress reporting.
  • Solid experience with test automation tools.
  • Advanced understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Formal project management training is a plus.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodology.
  • Technically strong and detail-oriented – able to dive deep into what has been committed and is ready for release.
  • Experience with GitHub, branch strategy, and CI/CD processes.
  • Understanding of test and release processes in software development.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and drive decisions.
  • Hands-on approach – an operational role rather than a high-level project management role.
