Software Engineer - Vehicle diagnostics and SWDL

About the job:

Within the department products that enhances the experience of owning a car are built. The teams develop connectivity products and services for vehicles – connecting them anywhere and anytime! Volvo Cars is looking for people to strengthen the team that is working with Diagnostics, SWDL (Software Download) and Power Management for TCAM (Telematics and Connectivity Antenna Module) component in the vehicle.

As a Software Engineer, your responsibilities include system design and verification of the areas mentioned above. You will also create test cases that run automatically in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) environment to verify new software deliveries. You will work in close collaboration with stakeholders, both internally within Volvo Cars R&D and externally with suppliers, for analysis of fault reports and quality improvement.

Do you fit the profile?

Volvo Cars is looking for you with at least a BSc degree in Software Engineering, or similar. You have passion for system design and verification of vehicle components, familiar with unit/component/domain/complete test and CI/CD automated test creation. You are knowledgeable with Python and Robot Framework which is used to create the automated tests.

You are fluent in English, have good communication skills and enjoy collaboration with a diverse set of stakeholders. You take ownership in your work and are able to manage uncertainty and problems that do not have clear solutions and outcomes. The work location is Lindholmen, Gothenburg, Sweden.

Competence/Tools needed:

  • Vehicle diagnostics and SWDL (Software Download)
  • ECU/CAN/Ethernet/DLT log analysis
  • Python and Robot Framework
  • Familiarity with unit/component/domain/complete test and CI/CD automated test creation.
